Prompts for game music
Captions for AI music generators that come out loopable and game-ready, and what to do with the result.
Copy the prompt with the button on its box, then paste it into your AI.
AI music tools take a style caption (and optionally lyrics). For game music you want instrumental tracks that loop cleanly and sit under sound effects.
The caption template
[GENRE] instrumental for a Roblox [GAME TYPE], [MOOD WORDS]. [MAIN INSTRUMENTS]. [TEMPO] BPM, [KEY]. Steady energy from start to finish with no fade-out ending, no long intro, loopable. No vocals.
Examples:
Lo-fi chiptune instrumental for a cosy Roblox idle farming game, warm, bouncy and relaxed. Soft square-wave lead, plucky bass, light drums, bell accents. 96 BPM, F major. Steady energy throughout, no fade-out, loopable. No vocals.
Driving electronic rock instrumental for a Roblox battle arena, tense and energetic. Distorted synth bass, punchy drums, gritty guitar riffs, rising arpeggios. 140 BPM, D minor. Steady energy throughout, no fade-out, loopable. No vocals.
Light orchestral adventure instrumental for a Roblox exploration game, curious and hopeful. Pizzicato strings, flute melody, soft brass swells, hand percussion. 110 BPM, G major. Steady energy throughout, no fade-out, loopable. No vocals.
Rules that make it usable
- One key and one tempo family per game, so zone tracks crossfade cleanly. Put the same key in every caption.
- Ask for about 30% longer than the loop you need, so there's room to cut on a bar line.
- Instrumental only. Vocals fight game sounds, and Roblox page videos don't allow lyrics.
- Audition at draft quality, then regenerate the keeper at high quality.
After generating
Cut the loop on a bar line (seconds per bar = 4 x 60 / BPM), crossfade the last half second into the first, and master to about -18 LUFS. The music loops guide has the details.
